1. The Croods: A New Age Movie Review : A highly imaginative, entertaining and colourful sequel with a potent message.
REVIEW: ‘The pack stays together,’ thunders Grug Crood (Nicholas Cage) at the slightest hint of anything that threatens to break his close-knit cave family. ดูหนังฟรี
Accessorising with live exotic animals, constantly watching over each other’s back for predators and sleeping in a pile – not a lot has changed for the Croods, including Grug’s dislike for his daughter Eep’s (Emma Stone) boyfriend, Guy (Ryan Reynolds).
But just when Guy and Eep plan to move on from the pack, the Croods chance upon a beautiful new haven with an abundance of colourful flora and fauna. The engineers of this vibrant new abode are the Bettermans, who are strikingly different from the primitive Croods.
They take them in as guests, because of their past connection with Guy. But soon, things start going awry between the two families and an external enemy threatens to wreck their home. Now, they must work together to survive this calamity.
2. Tenet Movie Review : Nolan’s complex yet visually stunning cinematic experience.
REVIEW: The world is about to end and the time is ticking, but backwards. Well, for most part. Writer-Director Christopher Nolan’s mysterious magnum opus is a film full of an eventuality that feels quite surreal in the precarious times we live in.
‘Tenet’ opens with a bang as a packed National Opera House in Kiev is invaded and is about to be blown to bits. This is a pre-cursor to quite a few such instances that infuse a dose of action and excitement even when the film’s rather convoluted plot might bog you down. But that said, the overarching idea of its plot is fairly simple.
It’s about saving the world from an insanely powerful Russian arms dealer Andrei (Kenneth Branagh). Who could go back and forth in time. Now, the idea is to beat him at his own game. But in execution, ‘Tenet’ is every bit the high-concept, make-believe and far-fetched flight of imagination that blends action, adventure and intrigue.
And Christopher Nolan manages to use many of these opportunities quite effectively.
3. The Outpost Movie Review : A brilliantly executed war drama.
REVIEW: A nondescript outpost situated in a valley surrounded by three imposing mountains of Afghanistan. Was an easy target for Taliban militants.
The contingent of American soldiers at the outpost knew this all too well and the terrorists used every opportunity to create trouble for the US Army.
They launched regular attacks from their natural vantage point of being on the top of the mountains, but so far the attacks hadn’t been fatalistic. For American soldiers.
This was an everyday occurrence and a local Afghani man named Mohammed helped the army negotiate with the locals.
But he would be often told off, saying he’s always crying wolf. Until one day, scores of Taliban militants wearing Pathanis and carrying assault rifles launch a diabolical attack on the outpost. Leading to one of the bloodiest battles in the mountains.
It was a battle that saw a small contingent of American soldiers valiantly fight the enemy with limited resources and heroes. Who took down countless terrorists before they fell.
